This is on par with JonnyUtah and Egoraptor work in my opinion, and that's no small praise!

The story was random, but it had a nice flow to it-- always entertaining.

The animation was not the best, but it was still very good.

The humor and the voice acting is where this shines. Both of them sound a lot like Adam Sandler, which is cool with me.

Although, I don't think that math problem works. I think, especially since you say "over the square root of ninety", that there should be a line denoting this as a fraction. Otherwise there are just numbers floating above a square root. Just a lil thing that distracted me, but still...

Amazing work, especially the voice acting!

Can you put some sugah on mah pan-cakes, pwease?

Keeps me coming back

Some animations are worth revisiting. This is one such animation.

Story: Hot damn, this is a dark Dr. Seuss with robots! Absolutely captivating and entertaining. Leaves the audience begging for more.

Style: Nice shading and very smoothly animated. I love the use of contrasts. The shifting point of view and the effective use of close-ups keep the action moving and always fresh.

Music: Holy Rat-on-a-stick Batman! Hania did an amazing job. While all of the music is amazing, there is one song in particular that I find myself playing over and over again (the warehouse scene, in the dark). Perfectly synced with the animation (or vice versa), very dramatic, and the dynamics make for a compelling addition to a wonderful animation.

Voice Acting: Very nice-- while I'm pretty sure I can do an old-man voice like the one used here, I don't see how you could get that child's voice without actually using an actual child (either way, the voice acting was all great).

Oh yeah, I even love the credits. It's funny how someone could post the last 10 seconds of your animation, just the credits, and it would probably get amazing ratings by the majority of Newgrounds voters, because it was well synced, well animated, had great music and was interesting. That's a testament to the overall beauty and value of this animation!

Utter Bull

I'm just kidding. I don't think there is a single Egoraptor animation I haven't seen at least 3 times on this website. Pretty much everything you make is amazing, which is saying something. A lot of people make a one hit wonder and get fans, and all of their later flashes are reviewed in light of the success of their previous work, instead of on its own merit.

This is definitely a great animation in its own right.

Funny Everytime!

Yep-- as an experiment I have watched this same animation every couple days for like 2 weeks, and it's still funny-- every sing time!

You say it doesn't take long to make these, so I kinda wish you would do a ton more-- they are awesome!

Shock Value

The animation was jerky for most of the movie, unfortunately. While I'm not an animator, and hence the product of your work is infinitely better than anything I can(not) make, it doesn't take an artist to see this isn't the highest quality animation. Definitely not bad, when compared to a lot of junk I see, but also not very good.

What really makes me score you lower is that there is absolutely no story here-- it is shock value for shock value's sake! Gruesome and disturbing images does not a story make. I mean, I would expect that kind of story from a 3rd grader at a campfire, "A bug went into a basement at the circus, and there was a mangled clown shackled to the wall, and uh, the bug climbed in a whole in the guys leg and wound up in the guys neck and then, umm, the bug crawled in the clowns mouth, and guess what! the clown ATE THE BUG!... oh yeah, then the bug's partially masticated body was spewed out of the clowns chest cavity onto the floor... and uh, another bug ate IT!" Seriously?

The music fit the goal of the animation perfectly-- I felt a chill shoot up my spine in the first few seconds of the animation.

I think your animation and sense of horror are on their way, especially since this is your first Flash animation, but you need to work on plot for your next piece of work (which I hope you will make-- you definitely have potential).

JohnDavidHeptinstall responds:

lol yeah I was complaining to myself all through making this that it actually had no plot, but I chose to create it in a manner where a seperate story could be percieved by the watcher, but thanks for such constructive judgement - and for the praise of the sound, and I will be focusing on plot in the future

Pretty much amazing!

Thoroughly enjoyable story and presentation. Appreciated the shading and fluidity of movement.

The music was superbly done, as well as perfectly synced with the animation (or vice versa).

Also, I like how the Egyptian was a jackal; very fitting in the theme of the animation.

One small nit-picking thing though-- the protagonist seems to have a hard time deciding which ear was severed. In the beginning it was his right ear that was cut in half; later it was his left ear. Again, that's such a small thing; it didn't hurt the story or animation at all. I'm just surprised that it was missed considering the enormous amount of time, effort, and creativity that was obviously poured into this amazing piece of art.

Perfect

This is the epitome of a good, comedic flash animation. I especially love the the way the protagonist's gift was revealed, because the viewer couldn't predict the general gist of the animation from the first few seconds, a problem that a lot of weak animations suffer from.

Cyanide and Happiness is one of my favorite web comics-- if people haven't seen their other work, they should check it out!

Profound

As far as animation goes, it was almost too simple, and the lack of almost any sound after the first quarter of the animation was a bit abrupt and boring.

But philosophically speaking, this was a very interesting and insightful work. The twist at the end was especially fun.

Stylistically, a bit blah, but some things really stood out, like the protagonist using the word bubbles to deflect bullets-- I thought that was a very fun and creative touch.

Thought-provoking and funny

What a great animation.

Story: While it was difficult to understand the story behind this animation by itself, your comments helped clear up any confusion. The fact that the animation failed to be self-explanatory is its one and only inadequacy.

Music: While I could definitely see why the music did not appeal to all viewers, I found it personally enjoyable and it was very well matched with the theme and atmosphere of the animation. I thought that having Ilu react to the music, as a future conductor as you stated in your comments, made the music much more than simple background noise. It was a wonderful touch.

Style: A+, 10/10, Two Thumbs Up... The smooth introduction of gritty animations onto real world pictures made for a very engaging visual experience. Loved How it looked. In your user comments, you mentioned you were working on your backgrounds; I hope you consider this animation a profound success then! Also, after reading your comments, the scene in which Ilu was walking down the street and seeing herself conducting, and being physically blocked from approaching this dream Ilu, became a poignant and well-crafted symbol of her struggle to achieve her goals.

Again, great job. Your hard work and imagination really came through on this piece of work.

I like to draw some, but am not nearly good enough to make any kind of actual animation; nor am I proficient in Flash. However, I have been a fan of Newgrounds animations and games for a while, and I know what is good and what is the suck.
